Lines Special Interest Group |
The CN Lines Special Interest
Group (CN Lines SIG) is an international self-sustaining operational
research and historical society that exclusively focuses on the Canadian
National family of railways, and actively promotes the art of modelling
them accurately. The focus of the SIG is on all constituent parts of the
system during periods of CN ownership. Except as background, it normally
does not cover lines prior to amalgamation into Canadian National, nor
components after they have been sold or leased to other operators. |

Since the mid-1960s, the Centre for
Surface Transportation Technology has helped a long list of Canadian,
U.S. and international railway clients by providing research,
development and engineering solutions.
To expand and improve services to this
important sector, CSTT recently coalesced all of its railway
capabilities into a unified Division. As a result, major railways,
transit companies, car and component manufacturers, and regulatory
agencies now make even greater use of Rail Division services to solve
challenging engineering problems, design maintenance solutions, achieve
business goals, and meet operational needs.
Industry leaders such as Canadian
Pacific, Trinity, PORTEC, Kelsan and American Steel Foundries trust us
to develop solutions in the areas of: structures dynamics vibration
stability control product development wear and fatigue asset management
training maintenance support rail/wheel system management and more. |

| The
Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo Railway Historical Society |
The Toronto, Hamilton &
Buffalo Railway (TH&B) existed from 1892 through 1987 as a separate
railway serving the Hamilton, Ontario area. It joined the lines of its
corporate parents, the Canadian Pacific Railway and the New York Central
system. It was established largely as an alternate route for the
businesses in the Hamilton area to ship their products to Canadian
customers in Toronto, Montreal, and the west and to American customers
via the New York Central and its subsidiaries. This site is
intended to provide prototype and modelling information |
