in Southern Ontario, Canada. Our interests are primarily in the
railways of Britain, either as modellers or as armchair
enthusiasts. We meet monthly in various local venues and
membership is open to anyone who shares our interests. |

The
Burlington Model Railway Club was started in the early
1980's, and consists of men, women, and families from Burlington
and the surrounding areas who have an interest in model
railroading, in a variety of scales. Our skill levels vary from
beginner to expert. Club members own and operate model railroads
in three different scales. We have large HO scale model railroad
with both new and established sections, an N scale railroad under
construction, and an outdoor railroad in G (garden) scale. Club
members meet weekly at the Burlington Model Railway Centre in
Hidden Valley Park. Many members also have model railroads in
their homes or gardens. |

Model Railroad Club
The club was formed in November, 1975, to promote model
railroading and to encourage its members to develop their
modelling skills and to support the NMRA. The majority of our
members are also NMRA (Niagara Frontier Region) members, and
several are working towards the Master Model Railroader
achievement. The club members' layouts range from fully scenicked,
basement sized empires with handlaid track throughout and command
control, through table sized pikes of sectional track. All of the
layouts in the group have one thing in common, though. They
provide hours of enjoyment to their builders. |

Model Railroad Society The Club models the fictitious
Pacific Western Railroad running point-to-point, interchanging
with the CN and CP. Being a bridge route between these railroads
results in a display of modern & old equipment. Our single
track mainline serves over one hundred industries along the line.
This creates plenty of passing and interesting switching problems!
Twice monthly operating sessions employ a freight forwarding
system, with computer printed train orders, and a fast clock. The
track is powered by DIGITRAX® Digital Command Control system (DCC). |

Model Railroad Club We have about 20 members in
the club and we are just starting on a larger HO scale layout of
the CNR going through Muskoka circa 1945-1955. This will be the
focal point of our club. It is a good time for new members (young
and old) because they will see the entire modeling process. There
is also an N scale division to the club. The N scale layout is a
portable layout that is 8'x16'. Members model in scales from N to
G in their home layouts. |

1980 as a club to encourage and promote model railroading. At
present, the club has about one hundred members ranging from early
teens to retirees. While our association does not have a permanent
layout, we have two active groups based on portable modular
layouts, one for HO scale and one for N scale. These layouts are
assembled at train shows in order to form large temporary layouts
on which our members operate their trains. |

Ridge Railroaders Club meetings
are held Monday evenings at our clubhouse in Oshawa, Ontario. We
have, at present, about thirty members and we are always looking
for new members to get involved. We have two portable layouts that
we take to shows - one is HO scale and the other is N scale. Our
HO modular layout is made up of 10 modules with a total size of
4.87 by 2.75 meters (16 by 9 feet). At present, we are in the
midst of changing some of the trackwork and rewiring it to improve
its reliability. In the summer of 2005, we added 3 new tracks on
the inside for staging. |

Railroad Club of Toronto
The Club was founded by Borden Lilley and Harry Ebert in 1938.
Originally located in Ebert’s basement, the Club soon moved to
new premises at Toronto’s Union Station. After World War II, the
railways needed the Union Station space. In 1946 the Club moved to
its present location, a former munitions factory.
Construction on the layout in its present configuration began in
1962 as a three-rail layout. By the late '60s the track was
converted to a two-rail operation. Some of the structures from the
Union Station days are still in use today. Over the years the
layout has evolved as track is changed, structures rebuilt, and
scenery upgraded. |
